Dear students,

With the UK hosting COP26, a major United Nations climate conference in just a few days, November is set to be an interesting month for anyone with an interest in sustainability. However the action isn't confined to Glasgow - there's plenty happening here in Cambridge too, as you'll see in this month's newsletter!

The Sustainability Team

As Cambridge Zero’s second climate change festival closes, we reflect back on the highlights, key points and stories which abounded from discussion on the road to COP26.

Help solve a ‘last mile’ decarbonisation challenge

The CISL Accelerator, with Cambridge Zero, are hosting a two-day hackathon bringing together a global community of innovators to come up with solutions to help the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) achieve net zero across their operations at their Rothera Research Station in Antarctica.

Take the Sustainability Skills Survey

An annual survey on UK students' perspectives on environmental and global developmental issues is now underway. This online confidential survey, run by SOS-UK, closes on 14th November 2021. Participating students are entered into a draw to win £500, or one of 10 £50 runner-up prizes.

Involved in COP26?

Cambridge Zero are keen to hear from students, or others across the University who are planning any engagement with COP26, to better promote and connect those who are involved with the conference. If you're planning to engage with COP26 in any capacity, contact Cambridge Zero
